FTG103 - Vanilla Iris - There was a vacant field behind the house where
I used to live. I noticed some iris plants growing a few years back, but the owner would
come through with a brush hog and mow them down long before they had a chance to bloom.
I caught him one day and asked his permission to dig them up. They had already been mowed,
so I still didn't know what color of iris they were. This spring (2005) was the first time
I got to see them bloom. They are a rich creamy color, too dark to really be called a
cream, so I would have to call them vanilla.
